Tea Time

Yesterday was a gray and rainy day, which was perfect for a group outing to Brambleberry Cottage, a tea room downtown.

Once we settled in among all the china, and mirrors, and flowers, and hat racks, we were given a three-page tea menu to peruse.

My favorite was the Princess Grey, an Earl Grey with lavender and rose.

And once the tea arrived, each one in a cozy-covered pot, our tier of food came to join it. Sorry for the poor pictures, it's impossible to focus with all this sugar and bread around.

Everything was so delicious, the cucumber sandwiches, the caramel apples, the little cakes, the scones with devonshire cream (why have I never had devonshire cream before?).

It was a great way to spend a rainy Saturday afternoon, and afterward, we all went back to our apartments and fell into a sweets-induced sleep.

When I got home, Joe and Cedric had been working hard on their schoolwork and writing.
