Putting off the Dishes

The party was a good time, and with the exception of setting our oven on fire, everything turned out.


 The orange herbed soda bread was tasty and not too dry.




I had an excuse to buy this super cute bowl from Goodwill...





...and to use these polka dot napkins!







Here we are ten minutes before everyone would arrive (also ten minutes before our oven burst into flames).  Joe did a great job throwing the baking soda over the flames yet under the food in the oven! And then he was kind enough to walk our food to a friend's house to finish cooking.



Unfortunately, I was too busy to get proper pictures of all the food: cabbage, carrots, potatoes, corned beef, and mini shepherd's pies.



Here's a bad cell-phone photo I took of the mini shepherd's pies before they were sprinkled with cheese and baked.




Some of our guests wore some really cool hats (see below) and vests and tights!




And we played a fun game!




It was a perfect St. Paddy's day, filled with friends, food, and laughter (and Guinness).
